How the Grinch Stole Christmas Grinch Close-Up Production Cel Signed by Chuck Jones (MGM, 1966). "Tomorrow is Christmas. It's practically here!" growls the Grinch, as he warns his pup Max about the quickly-approaching holiday. The Grinch turns his grimacing face directly toward the viewer as he ponders what he can do to keep Christmas from arriving in Whoville. The image of the Grinch's scowling visage is absolutely massive, measuring about 5" x 9.5"! The original, hand-painted 12 field production cel is signed by Chuck Jones (1912 - 2002) and presented over a blue color card. The Grinch was voiced in the beloved 1966 Christmas special How the Grinch Stole Christmas by the legendary Boris Karloff, who also narrated the classic Christmas story. Karloff received a Grammy Award for his voice work in the film. The image impeccably captures the essence of the Grinch throughout the majority of the special, before he has a change of heart in the film's finale. The Grinch's sinister red eyes, furrowed brow, and disgusted expression make this a quintessential depiction of the ill-tempered, Christmas-hating creature. The piece bears a Linda Jones seal on its lower left corner with #G7 on right corner and production numbers on left corner. Cel condition is Very Good. Minor tape marks on edges.  COA from The Cricket Gallery
