Virgil Ross - The Grinch Drawing (MGM, c. 1990s). "The Grinch got a wonderful, awful idea." After Virgil Ross left Warner Brothers, he worked at a variety of studios animating for Marvel, Filmation, Hanna-Barbera and others. This remarkably large and captivating drawing of the Grinch measures nearly 11" tall on 12 field 3-peghole paper. This signed drawing was created for sale by Mr. Ross while making public appearances at Warner Brothers Studio Stores and animation galleries to promote his line of limited edition cels. A true legend in the industry, Mr. Ross won the Winsor McCay Award in 1988 for his contributions to animation art. The piece shows minor handling; otherwise condition is Very Good.An original drawing, in colored pencil, of Daffy Duck signed by legendary Warner. Bros and Hanna Barbera. animator, VIRGIL ROSS. Virgil Walter Ross
 (August 8, 1907 – May 15, 1996) was an American artist, cartoonist, and animator best known for his work on the Warner Bros. animated shorts.  Virgil Ross received the highest awards available in his profession: the Motion Picture Screen Cartoonists Golden Award (1984) and the Winsor McCay Award (1988). Four of the cartoons he had animated won Oscars: Tweety Pie (1947), Speedy Gonzales (1955), Birds Anonymous (1957), and Knighty Knight Bugs (1958). {from Wikipedia}
